About
Growing up in Melbourne, Australia’s sporting capital, Alfred Chan is freelance writer nearing the completion of his undergraduate degree.
Studying a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Commerce at Deakin University’s Burwood Campus, Alfred majors in Media & Communication and Management with an interest to work in the sports industry following graduation.
His studies have taken him to Clemson Univeristy, USA where he further immersed himself in international media culture.
An enthusiastic follower of AFL, cricket, horse racing and NFL, Alfred has contributed significantly to Australia’s largest sports opinion website, The Roar (http://www.theroar.com.au/author/alfredc) for an extended period.
Recognising his inability to contribute to the sporting world with his on field ability after a decade of playing cricket (badly) and hockey (tirelessly), Alfred focused his energy off-field where he is consistently seeking new writing and broadcasting opportunities.
Although primarily interested in sport and sport economics, Alfred will occasionally use this blog to rant about everything wrong with society.
